Europeanization of the flags? Examples from Balkans
After the collapse of Yugoslavia in 1991-92, the new internationally recognized nations created new flags since the old ones representing “Socialist Republic” status and symbols became outdated.
During the Yugoslav (con)federation period, each of the republics, such as Bosnia-Herzegovina, had its own flag while the autonomous provinces of Kosovo and Vojvodina were using the flag of Serbia.
By looking at this development, one can wonder if it can be described as "Europeanization of the flags" or as a change of fashion trend from one-star tricolor to multi-star yellow and blue?
